Vibratory Centers Wisdom Circle

Vibratory Centers Wisdom Circle

Becoming aware of our inner self is a gift we deserve, and understanding our own energy structure is essential to a healthy life.  The Hopi Tradition understood that the living body of the human and the living body of the Earth were constructed in the same way. They understood that within each of us are the Vibratory Centers that echo the sound of life to the Universe and bring us energy. This circle is a teaching of the Hopi Vibratory Centers as taught by my Hopi spiritual teacher, Grandmother Medicine Song.

You will learn about the four worlds, four winds, the eight vibratory centers and the associated minerals, and the transition of moving into what the Hopi call the fifth world.

It starts in January on the 1st Sunday (February-December), 1:00 –3:00 pm. It is taught online via Zoom. Open to men and women. Cost - $40 per month. Contact information: cosmicpathways33@gmail.com

Drum Making Ceremony

Sunday, July 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm.

Every year we set aside one day for Ceremonial Drum Making. This year's drum making will be held on Sunday, July 20th. We will begin PROMPTLY at 10:00 a.m. and finish hopefully before 5:00 pm. This Ceremony will be at Heather Walize’s home in Lexington, KY.

Contact- (859) 859-608-0900 or email at cosmicpathways33@gmail.com

Details: The cost for making a drum will be $100.00. If you would like to join us, please email Heather Walize at cosmicpathways33@gmail.com or call/text 859-608-0900 and let her know by June 25th. There will be a $50.00 deposit to hold your space which is refundable 48 hours before drum making if you need to cancel, after that you will be held responsible for the $100.00 fee. These supplies have to be ordered well in advance of the scheduled drum making date. Once ordered, these supplies cannot be returned.

Traditionally a woman’s first drum is 13 inches in diameter and a man’s is 15 inches in diameter. If you have made a traditional first drum and would like to make a smaller or larger drum (price will be a little more for larger drums), just let Heather know and she will order that for you. We have enough room and help to do 10 drums (we need a minimum of 4 people to do drums).

**Please note that the Drum Birthing Ceremony will be held on Sunday, August 10th at Heather’s.** (We will explain more about this at the Drum Making Ceremony).

We make our drums in the traditional Hopi Way, and it will take ALL DAY. I mean ALL DAY. Once you begin to make your drum you do not stop until it is finished, and it is finished when the drum tells you it is finished. The Drum Making is done ceremonially; there is a particular Hopi Tradition that is followed, so WOMEN WEAR A SKIRT! Do wear clothing that is very comfortable, as you will be moving around as well as sitting down a lot. Consider the weather and dress appropriately. Sunscreen and/or bug repellant might be nice also. We can have a potluck for lunch and decide what everyone would like to bring after everyone has signed up. Water will be provided.

You will need to bring the following:

-A Towel (believe me, you will need it),

-A BRAND NEW, SHARP, PAIR OF KITCHENS CUTTING SCISSORS!

o (These are about $9.00 at Walmart) (No, you can’t just bring your old ones!)

o Note that regular fabric sheers will be ruined working on leather

· -A Spray Bottle

-A chair or blanket…you will be sitting outside to make your drum

- If you have an awl you could bring, that would be helpful

Summer Solstice: Purifying the Walk

This year’s Summer Solstice Celebration will be held at Heather Walize’s home.

Contact: 859-608-0900 or email cosmicpathways33@gmail.com to RSVP and get address and directions.

Details – This will be a mid-morning/early afternoon Ceremony and will focus on purifying your walk on the good Red Road. Come prepared to drum, dance and sing!

Please RSVP so we know how many will be attending. I have a pretty good-sized backyard but having a number of participants will be helpful. Park along the street and if you can please carpool. I will have either a sign or balloons by the mailbox and parking helpers. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Please remember that this is a ceremony and that you should walk in an appropriate manner. As Grandmother Jeremie taught us, small talk leads to big talk, so keep it quiet. We ask that you do not arrive before 10:30 am but please be there before 11:00 am. Remember that once we have set the fire you will not be allowed into the ceremonial circle. Women, please wear a skirt with shoulders covered. Men, please dress appropriately, no ripped pants, shorts, muscle T’s, etc. Wear sunscreen and a hat if you are sun sensitive. We hope for great weather, usually we have it at this time of year, but we can never be sure. Bring your own chair or a blanket if you would like to sit on the ground. Please, also bring your drums, rattles, bells or whatever joyful noise maker you have.

We will be doing the traditional feasting after the Ceremony. Each participant is asked to donate something towards this, like sandwiches, salads and sides, chips and crackers, or desserts. We will have coolers with water and tables available as well as serving utensils, napkins, plates, etc.

Ceremonial Herbs will be available for purchase before and after the ceremony. You can pay by cash/check, or you can use the Clover card swiping machine. PayPal is also available: http://paypal.me/heatherwalize33

Gifting Gourd: There is always an expense for us to prepare for Ceremony. Any gift you give will be very greatly appreciated. Please make your check out to Cosmic Pathways, LLC. or Heather Walize. PayPal is also available: http://paypal.me/heatherwalize33  Thanks!

Vibratory Centers

Vibratory Centers

The Hopi Elders understand that within each of us are the Vibratory Centers- which echo the sounds of life from the Universe and bring us energy. Through ancient teachings and guided meditation, you will learn about these eight energy centers within yourself; discovering your personal spirit guides for each one. You will learn how to work with vocal toning, crystals, and oils to assist in healing your spirit and the earth.

The Vibratory Centers is a Wisdom Circle that was created by Grandmother Medicine Song (a Hopi Elder and teacher of Hopi Wisdom Teaching) from the teachings passed down to her by her family and teachers. These teachings have often been compared to the chakras system with spirit guides. She granted permission to a select few to teach and share this teaching with the larger Earth community.

Rattle Making Workshop

Rattle Making Workshop

Rattles have been used in ceremony, performance and personally by Indigenous people across Turtle Island. The sound of the rattle reminds us of the healing power of rain, chaos of the storm, the nurturing and life-giving Nature of Water, and the power contained in each and every one of us. Traditionally, rattles would be filled with rocks, precious stones, seeds and sometimes teeth or small bones to create the sound within. Rattles were often used to pray for and honor the rains for the sound and connection between Earth and Sky. In healing ceremony, elders and medicine people would sometimes opt for the Rattle in place of the drum for gentle healing for women and children.
